Laptop computers, also known as notebooks, are portable computers that you can take with you and use in different places. Since laptops are supposed to be used on the go, they have a battery, which allows them to operate without being plugged into a power outlet. Laptops also have a power adapter, which can be recharged and work as a battery. The history of laptops goes back to the 1980s when technological developments helped develop the first types of laptops; however, their appearance and capabilities are not to be compared with today's laptops. Modern laptops with extensive features started to be developed from the 2000s onwards. An additional product covered in the Laptops segment is the hybrid (2-in-1 ultraportable), which is a tablet that can be attached to a keyboard, thereby making it similar to a laptop. The hybrid provides the ultimate form of convenience, as it weighs much less and can fit into small bags. Some of the biggest brands in this market are Apple, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Acer, Microsoft Surface, etc. The Consumer Electronics market only includes retail sales.

Tablets are mobile devices known for their touchscreen input and advanced operating systems, as demonstrated by the Apple iPad. Since tablets provide a different interface than traditional computers, they offer unique possibilities for graphics applications, games, and other programs. Because of their small size, they are extremely portable and can be easily put in a backpack. However, since tablets lack a keyboard and mouse, some tasks such as typing documents and writing email messages are more difficult on tablets than on traditional computers. Therefore, tablets are generally seen as accessories to laptops and desktop computers rather than replacements.
